Analyzing and Interpreting Qualitative Research Panel
Recently, I was lucky enough to contribute to the book Analyzing and Interpreting Qualitative Research: After the Interview, which was edited by Charles Vanover, Paul Mihas, and Johnna Saldaña. One of the exciting things that came out of this work (aside from working with the fantastic editors, and getting to know some of the other contributors and their work), was presenting as part of a panel at the virtual meeting of the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry in May of this year.
My panel consisted of Daniel Turner from Quirkos, presenting on Coding System Design and Management for Remote Collaboration, my presentation with Dr. Patty Witkowsky, on Deductive and Inductive Approaches to Qualitative Data Analysis, and a presentation on Analyzing and Coding Interviews and Focus Groups Considering Cross-Cultural and Cross-Language Data, from Elsa Gonzalez (University of Houston) and Yvonna S. Lincoln (Texas A&M University).
I’ve written a post based on the book chapter already, but the panel was a really great opportunity to hear about qualitative analysis from some other incredible scholars. The discussion afterwards was also exceptionally rich and interesting. The video for the panel has now been posted on YouTube and can be found here, and I highly recommend checking it out!
